| Cancun Honeymoon! |
[Oct. 21st, 2009|06:53 pm] |
Ryan and Natasha made for a smashing bride and groom. But with the wedding behind them, time for a honeymoon! I convinced these two lovey dovey newlyweds to let me crash their honeymoon in Cancun for a few days of fun!
Day 1- I stayed in the hotel next door to theirs. I decided staying in their suite would be a little overkill on the third wheel aspect! Upon arriving in the early evening, I took a dip in the pool before getting ready to meet the cute couple for dinner and drinks. We stepped out to Bubba Gump for a seafood feast! Sooo good and so fun! Following dinner, we took a quick walk before retiring for the evening as we had an early morning ahead of us.

Day 2- Coffee, coffee, coffee! I got up early to meet Mr. & Mrs. Dickson for our day trip to the ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum followed by an afternoon at Xei-Ha water park. We started our day with some shopping before taking the tour bus to Tulum. Our guide Juanita wasn't the best, but she was adorable and nice lol! The ruins of Tulum are amazing and sit along one of the most spectacular Caribbean beaches.

After a morning exploring the ruins and with sun protection in full force, we jumped back on the bus and headed for a fun afternoon at the water park. We swam, snorkeled, ate, drank, and went tubing down a river. We held parrots and a toucan, but I refused to touch the iguana! So scary. Such a fun day!

Off to my hotel for a quiet night at the pool, sipping wine, and a movie!
Day 3- Ryan and Natasha came over to my hotel for farewell mimosas on my patio. It was a relaxing way to wrap up my quick honeymoon visit lol! Off to the airport to catch my flight.

It was my first honeymoon.... but will it be my last? Thanks for a fun trip and congratulations again! |

| Memorial Day in San Francisco |
[Sep. 10th, 2009|05:53 pm] |
Nick and I ventured to Memorial Day in San Francisco. I think we did it all.
Day 1-
We were lucky enough to get first class on the way down to Oakland. Those mimosas were quite nice! After arriving we checked into our hotel, the Courtyard Marriott downtown near Union Square.
We soon found ourselves at Wharf renting bikes for an over the top adventure around the city via bike. We started at the piers where we watched the hilarious sea lions. Then off to famous cricked Lombard Street, Alcatraz, Palace of Fine Arts, the Presidio, Golden Gate Park, Lincoln Cliffs, over the Golden Gate Bridge and down into Sausalito for a much earned smoothie. What a bike ride that was lol! We were both more than happy to take the ferry back to the city. We had dinner at the Wharf and walked through that touristy mess lol. We snagged some food and wine at Safeway and headed back to the hotel for a quite night in with a movie.

Day 2-
We started our day with a walk through Civic Center to see City Hall followed by a much needed coffee at one of Nick's favorite haunts. We soon found ourselves tasked with post card duty. I hope you got one? If so, my wrist still hurts grrrr!

We soon were starving and found ourselves on a city bus to China Town for lunch and some shopping. A total fight broke out between two WT guys on the bus. What a mess! And thank you Purell following our bus ride lol.

Following lunch, we walked to the Coit Tower. It has amazing views from it's observation deck, but we were sad to find it closed for repairs. Grrrr!

After the Coit Tower we headed back to to Union Square via the famous cable cars to have some drinks with a few of Nick's San Francisco friends at a cute little dive bar.

Later in the evening we stepped out with Skye and Matt to San Francisco's newest club, Trigger. So happy we didn't have to wait in that line. What a fun night!

Day 3-
It was our final day in San Francisco! We had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory on top of the Macy's overlooking Union Square. Why do we pay for that mediocre food?! After lunch, we hung out at Union Sqaure and did some quick shopping. We soon found ourselves on the train back to the airport. Sad! Thanks for a fun weekend Nick!

Next Memorial Day weekend... it's D.C. with Bryan! |

| Melissa & Rob's Wedding! |
[Sep. 3rd, 2009|09:29 pm] |
San Diego-
Melissa found the man of her dreams, Rob! Mikey and I went to their amazing wedding on beautiful Point Loma. We obviously taught Melissa well... Rob is quite the catch. I must thank Melissa for the prime reception table location. We had the maid of honor and multiple bridesmaids at our table. How luck were we! It turns out Mikey and I played the role of the token gay couple quite well. By the time we left we were essentially the local celebrities of the wedding lol. Congratulations Melissa and Rob!

| Independence Day! |
[Sep. 3rd, 2009|09:15 pm] |
So Joe and I contemplated where we could take in the Lake Union fireworks on Independence Day w/o having to deal with the hassle of being trapped on a boat. Where could we go? I called Eastlake Bar & Grill... the perfect location for viewing the fireworks and having someone bring us cocktails and appetizers while we did so. How great would that be? Well, it turns ou the nice hostess who answered the phone, Lilly, said that they would not take a reservation. Grrrr! Did I let this stop me? I don't think so.
I thanked Lilly and hung up. The next evening I stopped into the Grill. I asked for Lilly. Turns out she was not working! So I dramatically launched into this extravagant tale about how Lilly and I were old college roommates, shared all the same guys, I was in her brother's wedding, etc., etc. I end the tale by explaining that Lilly mentioned if I stop into the Grill that I could possibly make a secret reservation. The host bought it! Next thing you know, I have the upper deck reserved for up to 15 people. So hot!
A few days later, we arrive on the 4th. We drink up a storm while enjoying all of the fireworks directly over our heads! So amazing. Thanks Lilly... who ever you are!

Following the fireworks we stepped out to the Cuff for another over the top night of partying! Thanks for making my 4th amazing boys!
